FEMA AND OES GRANT FUNDING The Putah Creek Pipeline project was completed in the fall of 2007. The restabilization of Putah Creek bank is completed. 1,000 willow trees were planted as part of this project. 960 feet of pipe was destroyed during the January 2006 Storm event along with massive amounts of land loss. The proposed project will reinstall the pipeline and secure the bank of Putah Creek with rip rap. The Putah Creek Pipeline provides water down Putah Creek during the summer months for flow enhancement for the sustainability of wildlife, fish and other aquatic species. This pipeline is a State mandatory requirement that the District must provide water down Putah Creek annually between the months of July-October. The District thanks FEMA and
OES for approving the release of funds to spare any costs upon the District's
customers. |
